I just wanted to give an update on our file folder workbox system, and how well it is working, and also what we fill it up with on a daily and weekly basis.
So far we are seeing great results with the new system, I feel like we are getting many more topics covered, and doing it better and more efficiently too. We are often done before the time we need to be, so the kids have time to work on their 4H visual presentations, and their Awana verses, also free reading, and regular chores get fit in too, which is awesome!! I really love that I have more time with each of them to do math work, which really requires one on one assistance, but can read our history stories, while they color maps together. I still do quite a bit of reading, but they are also now old enough for listening and appreciating good audio books, so we have been stocking up on those too.
We have had only a few days where we ran out of time, did not finish at all, or got lazy and skipped things. Their own desire to get their folders done, and the eer changing items filling the folders keep them moving forward nicely, thank goodness.
So, for the filling of the folders we have quite a variety to choose from, games, books, writing work, math worksheets, tanagrams and manipulatives, coloring sheets, grammar sheets, the list could go on. So, since it could get boring I will give you a quick pictorial rundown of the folders, or at least a few of them, from yesterday. This of course does not include the regular worksheets, reading books, or map work the kids had for the day.
The pencil boxes to keep it all tidy and together are still making my life so much easier, so we are keeping that up as well.
