Free App Saturday

It is once again Free App Saturday, and a perfect day to do a little online exploration of some fun free apps for educating our growing young!  During the summer months, since we school year round, (gasp, no!;-) we like to do a lot of science.  It is more fun to do big messy things outside, and we can spend a whole day exploring a few science concepts.  With this method we manage to get most of a years worth of science done in just a few months time. So, that being said, much of what I have found for Free App Saturday is science apps, really cool science apps(my inner nerd is doing a happy dance right now:) LOL

cosmic is a beautiful app, with thousands of images of space, all blended to look like Saturn.  Upon closer inspection you can zoom in and see amazing images of our solar system and beyond, images of places I have never even heard of, much less thought to see, have you heard of the horse head nebula?  Me either!  But it is lovely.  The best part, you can flip each image over and read interesting facts about the out of this world spot too. This app will be perfect for a muggy rainy afternoon or two, I am sure!
