I had a nice New Year wrap up post all planned, and ready to type…but it got derailed!! By a stop sign. Or, at least the post of a stop sign,a sled, and Little Man’s forehead, and blood, lots of blood… Ah yes, the joy of having a 7 year old boy is being brought home to me, one screaming daughter/child’s friends daughter, at a time.
Lucky Little Man, this may be the only time that having a neurological profile that is out of the norm has paid off, we got in to the ER quickly, got settled into an exam room and waited. And waited, and waited, on the up side, we were waiting away from the masses of barfing children in the waiting room, yay for us!!
Thankfully there was no seizure trauma, no lasting brain injury either, just a honking big scar, very nicely liquid stitched back together, to be a slightly less honkin’ scar. Little Man, once fed and juiced felt much more himself, and showed the ER docs his typical silly, giggly self, and they quickly ushered us out the door, and on to home, where L.M. is now comfortably resting.
We are now certain that we are capable of handling any odd medical drama that comes our way, the girls were calm under pressure, calling us right away, and dealing with the chaos easily, so proud of them!! Hubby and I worked well as a team, managing the Man’s fading in and out of consciousness well, me by torturing him to wake up, Hubs by passing any car not doing more than 65 with wild abandon(never knew my van could go that fast!!) and we held it together, no questions, we just did it!
Whew, so glad we are home now though, and so thankful for the amazing friends who took the girls, cared for and fed them, comforted them, and simply loved on them, thank you!!! So thankful for all of the prayers and well wishes we received too, they comforted us as we waited, working their own magic on our worries.
In the very near future we will be investing in a variety of sized helmets, for all possible sport events, oh yeah, we will be that family!!

Awe! so glad you all on on this side of it – God bless you guys!
Aww poor little dude! I’m glad he is ok!
